Can I make changes to my cover?

Yes, You can change your cover on your fixed term assurance plan

Your plan was taken out less than 5 years ago and has no Medical loading on it..?

It can be increased or decreased, please contact us for a quote.

Your plan was taken out more than 5 years ago or has a Medical loading on it.?

It might be able to decreased, please contact us for a quote

Your plan is assigned?

It can be still be changed, once we receive confirmation from the assignee's that they are agreeable to the change.

You cannot increase them again

You can do further reductions. However,  you cannot go lower than the minimum Life Cover allowed on your plan

 

You can call us on 01 704 1010 and we will ask you to answer a few questions. If there's any one else named on the plan, they will also need to answer the questions.

  • If there has been no change in your medical history we can then increase your cover.
  • If there has been a change in your medical history, we will contact our underwriting team to see if we can increase your plan. We will then contact you to let you know if we can increase it.

Note

  • Plan can be reduced more than once
  • Benefit amendments are only applicable to Life Cover and SIC. Other benefits cannot be amended.
  • Life cover must remain at €25,000 or above if Hospital Cash Cover is a benefit for the Life Assured.
  • There is no cooling off period on these alterations.
  • We require a specific Declaration of Health from customers for term increases and / or benefit increases. This Declaration of Health must be clean.

If you don't want to complete it over the phone, we can send you a Protection Flexibility Form to complete and send back to us.

You can then send back the completed form to us in any of the ways below:

  • Post it to Irish Life, Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1.
  • Scan and email it to customerservice@irishlife.ie
  • If you have a smart phone you can take a clear picture of the form and email it to customerservice@irishlife.ie
  • Fax it to 01 242 2931.
